What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is the third largest primary healthcare profession, behind medicine and dentistry and is recognised by the World Health Organization. Chiropractic is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of the mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
What should I expect?
It involves the safe, gentle and specific manipulation and mobilisation of the body's joints and other soft tissue techniques which improve motion range and overall health of all the joints.
How long is the recovery process?
The recovery process depends from a number of factors such as the individual himself, the type, duration and cause of the problem, the age of the patient, the lifestyle and habits. Usually, in the beginning, the sessions are held 2 to 3 times a week for 2 to 3 weeks, while then they are gradually reduced to once a week, once a fortnight to once a month.
Treatment then continues as a maintenance care to prevent recurrence, in combination with appropriate exercises if needed. The treatment plan is discussed in the consultation and can be changed depending on the individual’s needs.
